WETLANET International Conference "Wetlands: functioning, management and restoration", 16th to 19th October 2011, at Albena Resort, Varna

The Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research and the WETLANET Project team are pleased to announce that International Conference "Wetlands: functioning, management and restoration" will be held on 16th to 19th October 2011, at Albena Resort, Varna.

The aim of the WETLANET International Conference is to get together scientists and specialists working on various topics of wetlands research. They will discuss the recent developments of the wetland studies and the opportunities for further joint research efforts in wetland functioning, management and restoration. The scope of the conference is wide and the potential participants are encouraged to represent their results and ideas for studies of various types of wetland ecosystems and their biodiversity. Special emphasis will be put on types of wetlands of major importance for the region, i.e. those in South-East Europe, Danubian floodplain, coastal marine zones of the Black Sea and other adjacent seas.
