QR modelling workshop

"QR modelling for wetlands management and education. Potentials & Prospectives" workshop to be held from 14th to 19th February 2010 at the premises of CLGE-BAS, 2 Gagarin Street, Sofia. The workshop aims to promote recent methodological developments in QR modeling in the wetlands management and education and to enhance research collaborations and establishment of multilateral partnerships that can result in the formation of a consortium (consortia) carrying out high-level wetland research of socio-economic impact at regional and global scale targeting the priorities of FP7.

The main topics of the workshop are as follows:

  • Concepts of wetlands as ecological systems: unity & diversity;
  • Specific problems and needs: managing protected areas and/or water bodies;
  • Human pressures and impacts on wetlands: concept mapping & causal modeling;
  • QR modeling of wetlands: potentials & prospectives;
  • Research needs & strategies for further collaboration.


The workshop is targeted to the scientific research community, to the national and local authorities and to other stakeholders interested in wetlands management and education.
