Acquisition, development and upgrading of research equipment

Objectives
- Improving the technical capacity of the wetland laboratory network of CLGE-BAS by acquisition, development and upgrading of research equipment (Project Objective 2) in order to achieve international cutting-edge standards and better integration in ERA (Project Objective 3).

Enhancing the current research capacity of CLGE-BAS, in terms of equipment, methodologies and information potential, will provide possibilities of reaching of high level research of a standard comparable with EU Member States. This will unlock the potential of CLGE-BAS for more efficient participation in European research cooperation within FP7.
Description of work
The main steps in order to execute each task of WP4 will be (i) survey and evaluation of offers, (ii) purchase of the equipment needed and (iii) deployment of the new equipment.
Task 4.1. Upgrading and renewal of the research equipment of remote field stations of CLGE-BAS
4.1.1. Ecological Station at the Srebarna Biosphere Reserve.
4.1.2. Laboratory of Marine Ecology, Sozopol.
4.1.3. Field Station at the Atanasovsko Lake Reserve.

Task 4.3. Improvement of the IT capacity
4.3.2. Obtaining and deployment of specialised software (GIS-related, database, data analysis, image processing).
Deliverables
D4.1. Overview of upgraded and new equipment/supplies (inventory list and copies of invoices) – 12th and 18th month.
D4.2. Overview of IT and software supply (inventory list and copies of invoices) – 12th and 24th months.
