Objectives
To facilitate communications between CLGE-BAS and a wide scientific and non-scientific community aimed to better integration in ERA (Project Objective 3) and to disseminate achievements of wetland science in the society in view of increasing visibility of the research activities of CLGE-BAS and improving their responses to socio-economic needs of the country (Project Objective 4).
Description of work
Task 6.1. Launching and maintaining of website of the project.
Task 6.2. Preparation of books for dissemination of research results (mostly addressed to the international scientific community):
6.2.1. Book “Ecosystems of Srebarna Biosphere Reserve”.
6.2.2. Book “Mesta River: a model for trans-boundary management of surface waters”.
Task 6.3. Preparation of popular materials for dissemination (addresses to various groups of the non-scientific environment):
6.3.1. Bilingual leaflet „WETLANET Project: wetland science meets public expectations” (two editions: 2009 and 2011).
6.3.2. Bilingual brochure „Ramsar sites in Bulgaria: biodiversity, conservation and management”.
6.3.3. Multimedia product (in Bulgarian) on wetlands and research on them (aimed for free distribution in universities and secondary schools).
Task 6.4. Organisation of open days:
6.4.1. Organisation of open days in CLGE-BAS “2 February - International Day of Wetlands” (2 events – 2010 and 2012).
6.4.2. Open days of the Ecological Station at Srebarna Biosphere Reserve, April 2010, June 2011.
6.4.3. Open day of the Laboratory of Marine Ecology, Sozopol, September 2010.
6.4.4. Open week of the Ecological Station at the Atanasovsko Lake Reserve, 18-24 August 2009/2011, Observations on the autumn migration of soaring birds.
6.5. Exhibition “Wetlands: life, environment and resource”.
6.6. Support of publications in international journals with page fees and open-access fees.
